Interested in curling this Spring?
We are having a 6 week Spring League on Monday, Wednesday, and now Thursday nights starting Monday April 19th. Times will be determined by the number of participants but most likely we will have 2 leagues each night. The first league will play at 6pm and the second league at 8pm. If we have lots of teams we may need to go to 5pm, 7pm and 9pm starting times. As well, the same times will be held for the two Wednesday night leagues. Like last year we will also have a “Double League” scheduled for Wednesday night. This year the Doubles League will also be an “open” format so any combination of twosomes will be accepted! The Spring League is geared towards being a very relaxed, fun curling environment meant to assist newer curlers to learn the game. All leagues are open so any combination of players (i.e. male or female) works fine! You can also sign up as an individual or as a twosome and be placed on a team!
If you are a new curler who has never played before don’t sweat it!! We are having a “New Curler Clinic” prior to the start of the league that will be held on Wednesday, April 14th from 6pm to 9pm. This will be a 3 hour class where we will learn how to deliver a rock, sweep a rock, follow etiquette of the game and even play a couple ends!
Cost will be $120.00 per player per league. Also, if you have a team of 5 do know the fifth player will need to pay the full dues of $120.00 also.
Teams may be limited to first come first serve and space is limited so don’t delay. Remember, the Spring League is set up for fun for all and a great chance to learn the game of curling!!
Mondays: 6pm and 8pm
Wednesdays: 6pm and 8pm
Wednesdays Doubles (8pm only): 2 Players, Open (males, females, different or same sex)
Thursdays: 6pm and 8pm (New League Opening!)

- The Monday AND Wednesday 8pm leagues are now FULL. Contact Scott Belvitch directly by phone at the curling club to see if you can be put on a waiting list if you are only interested in these 2 leagues.
- Wednesday 6pm is doing a little better with room for 5 more teams.

- In response to this, we have added two more leagues on THURSDAY (6 and 8pm). This is now the ONLY opening.
04/13/10 Update:
- Registration is now CLOSED for the Spring League. Please contact Scott Belvitch to see if there are any last minute spots open.
Note: Leagues are OPEN, so if your schedule only allows you to play one one night, go ahead and register for EITHER league.
Each person wanting to curl MUST register individually. In other words, you are NOT registering a full team! Cost is $120 per league per person. Payment accepted in person at the St. Paul Curling Club and MUST be paid prior to the start of your first game. Payment does NOT include membership in the USCA.
Only select the league that you are COMMITTED to play in. Do not sign up in two leagues "just in case" your first selection is not available. The club will contact you if by chance your selection are not available and offer alternatives to you.
You do NOT need to sign up a complete team! Sign up just yourself - and if you already know someone that you WILL be curling with - be sure to include their complete FIRST and LAST name so you can be matched up. The club will match up non-experienced curlers with experienced curlers to make your curling experience a positive, educational, and fun experience.
